Essential duties & responsibilities

We are recruiting for the role of Cyber Security Engineer, the role requires the successful candidate to fulfil technical support, troubleshooting, change requests, installations, consultancy, system reviews, solution design, pre-sales scoping, product and service demonstrations that support the Managed Security Services Practice.

The purpose of this role is to allow the Practice to scale to meet the demands of the market. Claranet Cyber Security is growing rapidly and key to success is the technical capability with which we can meet our customer needs.

Operating within the Managed Security Services Practice, you will be expected to understand the existing care portfolio including Managed Detection and Response, Endpoint Detection and Response, and Managed Firewalls. This is a rapidly growing Practice and therefore new opportunities will emerge where you will be expected to contribute to product evaluations, document writing, and ultimately the successful onboarding and delivery of emerging services.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supporting internal customers, including the sales team, with enquiries and customer presentations
  • Partake in information gathering workshops, technical design reviews, integration, testing, and documentation preparation for customers
  • Delivery of technical presentations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Install and configure the technologies bought by the customer
  • Manage customer issues and see them through to resolution
  • Contribute to the internal technical support playbooks

About You


  • A strong and proven background supporting / troubleshooting / installing and providing consultancy for enterprise firewalls
  • A strong and proven background in network support, TCP IPv4/IPv6, VLAN’s, NAT, ACL’s, VPN technologies, Switching/Routing, DNS, Network Monitoring via SNMP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel

In addition, the following are highly desirable:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in a range of technologies or IT delivery
  • Demonstrable commitment to on-going personal development
  • 3 years of experience in Cyber Security related field
  • Specific experience of working with WatchGuard Technologies/ AWS/ Wireless technologies/ MFA solutions
  • Any certification or experience supporting WatchGuard Firewalls, WatchGuard Wireless solutions or WatchGuard MFA environments would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with Amazon AWS environments.
  • Experience working with Endpoint Detection & Response systems.
  • Experience working with IPS/IDS & Web filtering systems
  •  Any experience working with SIEM solutions.
