About The Role

Essential duties & responsibilities

Supporting the recruitment process for a diverse range of roles (predominantly technical) to include:

  • Sourcing high quality candidates utilising the recruitment tools available.
  • Reviewing job descriptions and person specifications, advising hiring managers on best practice.
  • Advertising vacancies internally and externally (yammer, intranet, website, and relevant job boards/LinkedIn).
  • Reviewing advert responses, screen and filtering accordingly.
  • Ensure to send timely rejection mails to the candidates who were not shortlisted.
  • Sending CVs to hiring managers/internal resourcing lead and gathering feedback.
  • Arranging interviews, booking rooms and sending confirmations to direct candidates/liaising with recruitment agencies to provide all relevant information needed.
  • Sending online psychometric tests to candidates and collating reports.
  • Offer management; preparing all pre-offer paperwork ensuring that the recruitment policy is adhered to.
  • Communicate to candidates the Claranet culture, opportunities, and benefits prior to interviewing.
  • Collecting and sending constructive feedback to candidates, ensuring an excellent positive candidate experience.
  • Working closely with the HR team on the recruitment and interviewing process.
  • Where applicable, assisting with the candidate sponsorship process, collating advert screenshots, candidate feedback, CV’s and any other information in line with legal requirements.
  • Working with recruitment agencies on Claranet’s PSL where appropriate, building relationships and managing expectations.
  • Supporting with PSL reviews.
  • Promoting direct hiring and the internal referral scheme throughout the business, continually look to reduce recruitment spend effectively.
  • Finding innovative and cost-effective ways of sourcing highly skilled candidates.
  • Taking part in managing the applicant tracking system, improving workflow and database cleansing.
  • Building and maintaining talent pools within the application tracking system.
  • Always keeping up to date with external recruitment trends (competitors, market, salaries etc).
  • Assisting with the benchmarking of roles where appropriate with the HR team and/or Hiring Manager.
  • Arranging and conducting telephone interviews/candidate screening calls where appropriate.
  • Organising and participating in recruitment fairs/events i.e., attending university open days to build and develop relationships.
  • Both running and assisting with adhoc projects.
  • Participating, updating and addressing hiring status during weekly recruitment calls.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to create and promote recruitment marketing initiatives and Employer Branding.

About You

Position specifications


  • Proven track record of sourcing high quality candidates either within an agency environment or in-house.
  • Exceptionally well organised and able to work on multiple job requisitions at once.
  • Strong communicator with good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally in a Global Environment.
  • High motivated and energetic team player with a can-do flexible attitude.
  • Ability to be persuasive, persistent and patient.
  • A willingness to work outside of normal hours should the situation arise.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with a high degree of change and ambiguity.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook with experience of using Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Highly organised with excellent planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full driving license and willing to travel to other sites on an adhoc basis.
In addition, the following are highly desirable:
  • Recruitment experience of minimum 4-6 years of working in an Information Technology driven business of equivalent size.
  • Prior experience of hiring cloud professionals such as AWS/ Azure Engineers and Architects
  • Prior experience of hiring security professionals such as Pen testers, Security engineers, SOC engineers & architects.

Working within the HR function is always challenging but also extremely rewarding as the function has the ability to support and drive performance (remotely and directly) across the business units and functions through exemplary organisational practices.

The HR function is a professional environment and a team of sixteen which consist of HR, Facilities and Reception staff, split across London and Gloucester and provides a full HR generalist, talent acquisition, facilities and specialist service to the Claranet UK Ltd for all its sites across the UK, including London, Gloucester, Warrington, Bristol, Leeds and Chelmsford.

The overall purpose of this role is to source high quality candidates and providing administrative support throughout all aspects of the recruitment process including playing a key part in candidate management, scheduling interviews, gathering feedback. The focus is providing a first-class recruitment service to the hiring managers within Claranet whilst prioritising and promoting direct hiring. Constantly contributing to the overall development of the in-house recruitment function.
