About The Role

Key duties

  • Manage all levels of the product management and team
  • Oversees innovation of products as well as day-to-day activities
  • Ensure that the business understands the customer experience to identify and fill product gaps
  • Generate new ideas for product development inline with customer demand and market direction
  • Work directly with customers to gather feedback and improve customer experience
  • Maintain development in-line with business goals

Product/Market Evaluation and Data analysis

  • Investigate and analyse the products on the market identifying and managing our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • Regularly perform competitive analysis, pricing, profitability analysis that will inform strategic decisions on cost reductions or quality improvements of the competition feeding this information into the product departments to manage
  • Use information to drive new opportunities into the product strategy
  • Analyse and evaluate feedback to identify reasons for product issues
  • Process findings and create reports for the Managed Security Services Practice Lead and BU Director to review
Product pricing and strategies
  • Develop pricing and product positioning strategies
  • Ensure that the product strategy is converted into tangible results by making the best use of the cross-functional teams
  • Prioritise the product strategy based on customer impact and business goals
 
Product launches, promotion, and management
  • Drive product launches including coordinating sales, marketing, and technical resources (both internal and external) to produce a complete, sales ready, product launch and successful deliver the product to market
  • Determine the needs and desires of the market, directing the launch content towards addressing the core drivers
  • Relay information to the launch team and respond quickly to questions and inquiries presented by internal teams and clients
  • Manage and maintain existing document sets to ensure they evolve in-line with product development
  • Promote and evangelise the products strong points across the Security Business Unit Sales Team and sales teams across Claranet Uk and update marketing teams to ensure content is current and relevant

    Recruitment and staff maintenance

  • Initiate and support recruitment into the product management team
  • Provide training and support to new recruits and support with onboarding and skills improvement
  • Maintain reports on staff performance and manage employee performance to optimise outcomes

    Self-development
  • The role and the market are constantly evolving and therefore self-education on professional and technical aspects of the role and in the field of cyber security are essential

About You

Essential

  • Have practical experience in a product manager, product owner or business analyst role
  • Have a collaborative style with the ability to work as part of a physical and virtual team
  • Be self-motivated, confident and can network effectively across a matrix organization
  • Strong attention to detail, superb organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with many variables in dynamic situations
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to view issues and concerns from multiple perspectives, and to keep the “big picture” in focus
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in an environment with tight deadlines
  • Possess a strong knowledge of two or more of the following:
    • Defensive Cyber Security Strategies
    • Offensive Cyber Security Strategies
    • Security Auditing
    • IT Networks and Computer Science
    • Software development practices

    Desirable

  • Industry relevant certification in product management or in an IT/Cyber Security field

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the success of the Managed Security Services portfolio. This includes current services; Managed Detection and Response and Endpoint Detection and Response; plus, any new services that are added to the MSSP portfolio. With deep product expertise, you will assist in driving the strategic direction of the services. Your vision for improvement and understanding of market drivers will be critical to ensuring our products are differentiated and competitive, ready to sell, and provide unique value based on customer demands.

The scope of work is broad but can be broken down into a few key areas: Setting Strategy, Defining Releases, Evaluating new ideas, Prioritising development of features.

You will work a cross-functional team that includes technical engineering, sales, marketing, and Senior Management, as well as with customers to build new ideas and manage products through launches and beyond.
